5. Write
a letter to the editor of an English daily throwing light on the very issue of
price rising of the market due to the covid pandemic situation. 5
Answer:
Sub: Skyrocketing prices of essential
commodities due to the covid pandemic situation.
Sir,
Through the columns of your esteemed
daily, I wish to express my deep concern over the skyrocketing prices of
essential commodities due to the covid pandemic situation which are
making the lives of common people miserable.
The prices of essential commodities
like pulses, vegetables, cooking oil and petrol have been rising incessantly
which proves the efficiency of the government to keep inflation low. The
current scenario favors the richer section of the society. The poor and middle
classes of our country are not getting the food grains and pulses at a
reasonable price to sustain themselves with two basic meals. Big businessmen
and hoarders have created this artificial shortage of food grains by illegally
storing them in godowns so that there is no limit to the galloping prices.
The government must take stern action against hoarding and black marketing of food items during this situation. Fair price shops must be set up in greater numbers. Moreover, people should be empathetic and food should not be wasted in social events and daily life. Along with the government, every citizen should take all necessary steps to control the price rise in this pandemic situation.
Yours sincerely
Mrigen Talukdar
